2025-26 Competitive Indoor
The $309 (non-refundable) registration fee includes a $20 assessment fee. The remaining $289 will go towards season registration.
This non-refundable deposit will be credited towards your player’s team fees upon placement on a team. Please note that this deposit covers only a portion of the total fees.
The remaining fees will be announced upon placement. The club will send a payment link for your child’s remaining balance at the start of the season.
Age Group Registration Guidelines
All players must be registered under their correct birth year. This ensures proper placement and helps our technical team assess and assign players to the most appropriate age group or team for the indoor season.
For example, a player born in 2014 should be registered under the U12 age group. Once registration is complete, the technical team will determine final team placement based on ability, development needs, and program structure.

Assessment Dates:
High Performance Teams & Competitive EMSA Teams: September 2nd – September 7th.
This season, the Club is introducing a new pathway to support competitive players aiming for high-performance teams. Competitive teams will now have the opportunity to participate in EMSA lower tiers, providing regular league games and a development environment closer to our high-performance program. This change will help bridge the gap in competition opportunities and offer players more exposure to competition.
If you would like your child to be considered for High Performance or Competitive EMSA teams, please register under “HP & Competitive EMSA Teams.” Players not selected for a High Performance team will be considered for the Competitive EMSA Teams.
Competitive: September 8th – September 14th.
Players who are not selected for the High Performance teams or Competitive EMSA will automatically be added to the Competitive Assessment list. The office will contact these players with further details.
We are also exploring the decision of moving to single birth year teams within the Club programs. This decision will be based on the player’s availability and playing abilities and will be made on a case-by-case basis. This change is intended to create more balanced competition, support accurate player placement, increase roster consistency, and follow best practices in long-term player development.
Players must attend all scheduled assessments to be considered for a team. Please check the assessment schedule for your designated time. If you are unable to attend, you must still register and pay the non-refundable registration fee. Additionally, please email info@swancityfc.ca to inform us of your absence.

Indoor Programs
Season Length: September – April
Age Groups: U9 – U10 – U11 – U12 – U13 – U15 – U17 – U19 Boys & Girls
Competitive Tournament Teams:
This program is designed to develop players who are ready to demonstrate a higher level of potential. It focuses on advancing fundamental competitive and technical aspects of the game while fostering a self-reflective mindset and good sportsmanship.
Our progressive exercises are slower-paced and less competitive than those in the High-Performance program. This program incorporates elements of Canada Soccer’s Stage 3 & 4: Learning to Train coaching model, adapted to each season’s team.
In our Competitive program, we emphasize equal playing time and opportunities for all players. A high level of commitment is expected for practices and participation in two tournament weekends.
Competitive EMSA Teams
This program bridges the gap between our Competitive and High-Performance streams by offering players the opportunity to train and compete at a higher level while maintaining a balanced developmental focus. Selected teams will participate in EMSA lower-tier leagues, providing regular league games and increased opportunities for gameplay and skill application.
The Competitive EMSA program emphasizes strong technical development, good sportsmanship, and self-reflection, similar to our existing Competitive teams, but with the added benefit of more frequent matches and higher competition intensity. The travel commitment aligns with our High-Performance teams, including regular trips to Edmonton throughout the season.
This pathway is designed for players who are ready to challenge themselves, build confidence through consistent competition, and prepare for potential advancement into our High-Performance program.
High-Performance teams:
This program is created following Canada Soccer’s Stage 4: Learning to Train coaching model and progresses into Stage 5: Soccer for Life. We focus training on the player’s abilities to be self-reflective, and we facilitate lessons and exercises about more complex movements, such as using appropriate body contact in the game and playmaking. This program also includes longer gameplay with less stoppage time, requiring a dependence on team communication, which improves overall soccer IQ, reflexes, and team relationships. In our High-Performance programs, we expect players to demonstrate a high level of commitment to both the sport and their team. These players prioritize their individual development as well as the success of the team. Attendance at all practices and league games in Edmonton is mandatory. High-performance teams travel to Edmonton 4 to 5 times during the indoor season.
Registration closes on August 24th. Only players registered online will be allowed to take part in assessments.
If you are unsure about your player’s jersey, shorts, or sock size, please check the size chart by clicking this link: Size Chart. This will help ensure the right fit for your child.
